In a case of having your cake and eating it to, critics note that the RX-8 combines sports car performance with practicality. With its unique 238-horsepower engine, the RX-8 can reach 60 in 5.8 seconds, corners nimbly and brakes well. It comfortably seats four good-sized adults and is not too hard-edged to use as your only car. The Mazda RX-8 is the best all-around sports car in its class, according to the reviews

Somewhat less practical and more expensive than the Mazda RX-8 is the two-seat Chevrolet Corvette. Still, reviewers say it is relatively comfortable and has adequate luggage space. The Corvette delivers outstanding performance for the money, reaching 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and reaching a speed of 186 miles-per-hour.

                                                   Hennessey Venom

Hennessey released details of their upcoming supercar. It has massive power, coming from a twin-turbo version of the already powerful 8.4L V10 from the Dodge Viper.
The Venom GT should push out at least 1000 horsepower.
In a body weighing 1500 pounds lighter than the Bugatti Veyron, the Venom GT could be breaking the top speed record.

With either a six-speed manual or sequential gearbox, the Venom GT should run from 0 to 62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. We could see the Venom GT in the concept stage in early 2009.
